* Note: I’m not a TF fan like the rest of you guys. I only like 2, maybe 3 Robots from the Bey movie and AHM which is why I dont usually post them often. Today theres alot of Drift tho lol.

I think part of the problem with Drift is that he was initially rammed down the fandom’s throat, portrayed as uber cool as though we were supposed to like him right off the bat even though no one knew who he was or where he came from. He didn’t say much of anything and his actions didn’t define him as anything other than “super-ninja-awesome-bot-who’s-better-than-you.” He was also played up as something that was supposed to be new/different to the idea of Transformers. Unfortunately, there have already been plenty of Decepticons who turned Autobot/general good guy throughout TF history. And ninja bot characters have existed before Drift. IE, he came off as a smirking, wanna-be special snowflake from the start and a lot of people didn’t like that. I’ll be the first to admit he looks fucking amazing, but I give credit to Guido Guidi on that one, since he’s the artist who designed the character. Dude is super talented. Shane McCarthy, who created Drift, is still on my “I don’t like you” list, though.
My TF commentary aside… I’d fucking hit that Dancouga mech. And not with a brick. Holy shit, that’s HOT.
ante: I hear like half the transfandom hates drift because hes seen as like an “anime cop-out” or something. shure he could be weeboo food, but I like the desighn even if I dont read the comics. ;;tosses a chibi screamer at you;;

Meh, I obviously know the TFs better than other robot canons, but art/design/hotness wise, they’re certainly not the end-all, be-all, which is why I love these hot robot art roundups you do! 😀

I’ve already started working on some science fantasy stories featuring mecha(cyborg) and human(women)relationships. Sometimes it’s frustrating to draw out a scene so I opt to just write about them until I can come up with something.
