I have put together Redout’s theory in a word document for future reference.
If you look at a varied selection of hyper art you’ll start to pick up a consistent trait they all have and that is that they’re generally flat angles and that the size of the body parts in question seldom feels ‘physical’, like it doesn’t actually occupy space – meaning its just there randomly; being impossibly large without having any weight or just making them collapse or fall over, basically meaning that it doesn’t have any physicality to it. Its just there.
A lot of hyper art thus is less about fetishizing the size itself and more about how much this particular visual element occupies the space in the image, like it doesn’t matter what’s even happening, the dick has to be 30% of it. They could just draw their picture with the viewer closer to the action but they want to depict the wholeness of things without losing that 30% of genitals in your face.
Whether they intend to do it or not, they lose the ability to perceive proportion or distance over time, because like all fetishes based on excess there’s an inevitability of further degeneration. They usually mask it with self deprecating humour or an attempt to play it off as absurdism but deep down they’re begging for someone to come and give them boundaries.
Whatever the case is, the outcome is the same, they end up drawing a small character attached to a mountain of flesh. It’s almost symbolic of how much their unfulfilled obsession consumes them when the genitals dwarf the character so much it just disappears.
I find this deconstruction soo fascinating.

1st world problem theater

On Thursday I sat in my car for lunchtime under the shade of the Arguello building scratching the thin plastic off a game called “Monster Hunter: Generations”. This would have been my first entry in the popular capcom made J monster grinder, as well as the last, and final game in the DS pile bought way back at the end of January. So I pop the game in, turn my DS on and load the start menu. I am quickly informed that the game cannot be saved and  or loaded from the game cart without an SD card of atleast 24 mb of space. I watch the intro and then turn the DS off. Completely triggered, I lift the monster hunter box and carefully inspect the front and the back for any small print indicating the absolute need for for an SD card. Their was NONE! Fucking nothing. …ok.

It was at that moment I resolved to trade the game I had never gotten to play, and the DS in for store credit on something less likely to randomly fuck me over. Some used PS4 games or something.

So why did I do this? Do I hate Nintendo? Am I resoundingly entitled? Have ADHD? Well shit, it could be any of these, or none of these. But I will tell you that this was just anouther check in a growing list of things I’m unhappy about my latest experience with Nintendo. This isn’t about how Nintendo makes you rebuy games you’ve allready purchased on other systems, about how Nintendo intentionally creates scarcity in its own market enough the scalpers fuck you bad. It’s not about how they gave people a 70$ trade credit for giving up their old 3Ds for “The New” 3DS Xl and then forcing you to pay an additional 20$ for a charge cable that did not come in the box for The New* Nintendo 3Ds Xl. It’s not about how Nintendo created the New 3Ds and to this day it only has one game. ONE GAME: Xenoblade chronicles. A game I bought and was denied the ability to play because I bought the wrong version of now 5 different variants with very similar names. Its not about how Nintendo sold 1,2,Switch.. a pack in game for a full price amount as well as making Indy titles available on the switch for 15-20$ more then they are asking for new on steam. It’s not about Nintendos anti consumer policy’s in regards to YouTube streamers and games critics use of their footage under fair use protection…

its not about any of that. It’s about this 10$ optional SD card bullshit that was not mandatory and now suddenly it is for one game. “But Chris! You blow 30$ on dinner twice a week, where are your priorities?!” Under normal circumstances you’d be right 95% of the time. But more or less this is about wasting the consumers time. Having to get back in the car and drive or wait for amazon to mail me an SD card (prolly proprietary on the switch) for a game that did not indicate I needed such optional storage space just makes me think about all the pissed off mothers and sad misinformed children who got this game for Christmas or their birthday and are frantically trying to convince their parents to take them back to the store to spend an extra 10-20$ on something that wasn’t even nessesary before. “But Chris, this is the way of the future! PsVita has mandatory sd card saving why you so mad?” Yes well all of sonys systems had mandatory memory card or SD card saves from their inception years ago. But It’s mandatory and I expected it. Nintendo didn’t make it mandatory and nearly all games were saveable on the cart themselves. It wasn’t until just recently with the 3DS (possibly the wiiU) That Nintendo started to nickel and dime you on it’s hardware, like Many other companies.  The should have made the SD card mandatory and stop wasting people’s time.

I just wanna reiterate that I don’t have a beef against nintendos game titles. Those are just fine. But as a company, this “giving you less product for the same price” shit might fly with younger gamers, It ain’t flying with me though. I’m seriously put off and a little scared to even consider buying into nintendos switch And I don’t know why Nintendo has SOO many diehard unapologetic fans for a company that refuses to get with the times.

I know mine is an unpopular opinion. But hey, I’m disappointed. I used to Love the fuck out of Nintendo. I thought Super Nintendo and the Nintendo game boy advance were some of the finest systems ever made. It just hurts me when a company I was cool with makes a lot of shitty decisions all of a sudden.

Stop dicking people around Nintendo.

Vindicated

The following is a note I received yesterday from an old and prominent member of the living machine community, (and also the biggest baddest kinkster of them all). You readers may have your personal views on the matter, But the fact that it came from who it is it came from, is in no small way a personal vindication of what I know to be true regarding the current state of the LM fandom:

*ever have any regrets when you look back at the contributions you feel you made to the living airplane community? cuz for the last few months i’ve been thinking about that, in fact every time i upload a new batch of pics to Aero i’ve kinda thought about it ^^;

my regret is that maybe i shouldent have been so loud trying to attract people to plane porn, which is something i’d never thought i’d say ^^; i’ve been promoting that kind of artwork since 2008-ish and whats happened since then? artists come along and make some awesome plane porn in a style they like, it becomes super popular, then dies out…only to be brought back to life by somebody new who draws it in their own style, or uses the previous style as an influence, and the cycle continues. now after almost a decade all i feel its done is make a mockery of people who are interested in the concept of an anthropomorphic vehicle. lots of art, particularly aeromorph art, has been made over the years that has been so weird and fetishy trolls swarm to it like mosquitoes to a bug zapper. this has been the result of promoting plane porn on multiple art sites over the course of a decade, people who are into some weird shit and might not be the greatest artists in the world then start drawing their own plane porn, attracting trolls, who make the WHOLE anthro plane community out to be one big fetish and nothing more. this attitude is going to take years to reverse…if it ever can be, and i feel like i’m partly responsible for this…

every time i upload a batch of pics to Aero over half the pics are hyper herms, or involve some weird furry-typical fetish. maybe it was a mistake trying to promote ourselves in the furry fandom? but honestly where else could we have gone? furries are fans of anthropomorphism as a concept…which is why aeromorphs eventually caught on, even if the transition was rough XD but now i see all the troll-worthy qualities of furries superimposed on aeromorphs, and what can you do? shove these people away and call them heretics? you cant cuz they’re like hybrids of furries and living machines, technically both but not quite either… and thats not to say all aeromorphs are bad, some are actually really good (the proportional, mono-gendered ones…) but god DAMN the majority of whats being made…i simply can not fap to them XD

so yeah…thanks to me and others like me, the community will never be taken seriously, it’ll always simply be a fetish without any merit otherwise, which is sad cuz living vehicles have as much creative potential as human/furry characters. entire movies/TV shows, anime/manga, books/comics, etc…could be made for older (13+) audiences involving living vehicles, but wont cuz in 2017 all people think of when they see a plane with a face is, “oh shit guys its that anthro plane fetish!!”

not that plane porn needs to go away, its just quality NSFW stuff needs to be more common, and more SFW stuff needs to be done as a whole to balance out the scales so people can see that the community is 50/50 SFW and NSFW. but so many people who could have tipped those scales have gotten frustrated and fled to Tumblr or other sites, or simply stopped drawing in general.

plus almost all the people i respect in the living airplane community have stopped talking to me…a lot of them over disagreements about aeromorphs or plane porn, so yeah…maybe thats the real reason why i’m spamming you with this wall of text…after a few years of uploading hyper titted herm aeromorphs to Aero, i’m starting to understand.*

I don’t have an answer for you man. No reassuring words. We did this to ourselves trying to make it seem like we aren’t alone in our own ideas. Like someone.. somewhere out there is ok with what we do or how we think. Even Hydro and AeroIngo warned me that what I am currently doing with Furraffinity and my Dire machines is only going to lead to my own head world being shat upon by fetish tourists.

In the grand scheme of things, none of what we are into matters, except very intensely to ourselves and our little group.

We are also just as equally far from God’s light- as they say, as the very people who disgust us. So its going to become a lot more important in the future to lead by example. The few of us that are left should focus on ways we can make Living machine stuff equally balanced, even if that means cutting back on instant gratification artwork. Tell more stories, do more diagrams or studies. But do yourself a favor and make sure your gallery is about 50% normal to every % of weird.

I can tell you definitively that people who draw hyper herm aero stuff don’t give a shit about airplanes, their wonderful history, or have even visited a museum once in their lives and touched these things like we have. They are only after the next weirdest  latex-looking robot shark girl to put a 12 foot long dick on. If you are looking for quality over quantity, Please don’t feed this kind of autism.

All that said man.. I share your pain. I share it hard.

If anyone out there would like to get me a birthday gift, I could really use a couple of bags of these: TEA

and a model or diecast A-10/ka-50 to sketch from.

Easy Model 1:72 Scale “Kamov Ka-50 Blackshark Russian Air Force No. 318 Werewolf'”

I need a few small cheapo models to sketch from for the comic. But I cant really afford it since I gotta get possibly all 4 of my car’s tires replaced before January boo..

D-Day 71st Ann.

Today marks the 71 anniversary of the Allied landings on Normandy beach, Operation Overlord, D-Day. Sabaton is the band I like the most because they combine my love of metal music with war stories and events so obviously they’re my favorites. This is a song called Primo Victoria and it’s for D-Day. The video link uses Saving Private Ryan clips as a heads up. They’re a Swedish band that sing in many languages, they speak English very, very well and the accent is great for their music.

Now that that’s outta the way I’d like to share a project I’ve been working on unhealthily, Jester drew up a starship and that made me want to draw up my model one, but I fucked up her superstructure and sizing so bad I said ‘FUCK IT’ and went to what I’m best at: 3D modeling software.

Her name is INTO THE FIRE and she is Twenty (20) Kilometers long, six and sixty-sevenths (6.67) Kilometers wide, and three (3) Kilometers tall. I’ve put so much thought into her and her design that I’m too lazy to list it all right now, I’m fucking pooped out, but it’s got three massive ION-cannons for disabling targets and a shit ton of standard guns for brawling, a plethora of  hangers, hundreds of shield generators, a large missile attack/defense system, a few bridges, a fuckload of engines (all that other colored areas in the back are engines) and uhh.., fuck.., can’t think right now I’ll get back to yall. If you’re wondering why the hell she’s so long and skinny in the front it’s because of her attack strategy: all the gunners are at the control center on the bridge, the guns can be operated manually but her fighting style is to charge into the enemy formation and use the mass amounts of cannons mounted forward on the non-vital portion of the ship, the Ion cannons knock out a few systems on the enemy combatants from afar before ITF probes in and unleashes hell on the rest. It keeps the vast majority of the crew safe and as far away as possible from the conflict. Here are the damn pictures already:

Ratbat I’m curious, how big do the ships in Star Citizen get?

Oh and she’ll be in a story. You just gotta wait. 😉 And if yall liked Sabaton go ahead and look ’em up on youtube, some people out there have awesome AMVs from game clips and other stuff, it’s pretty cool. Oh and the whole time I was building this in the software I was listening to their song Into The Fire, hence the name, and it’s about Vietnam and Napalm.

“I love the smell of napalm in the morning” (Couldn’t help it)
