I wanted to do a little bit more embroidery thread flash on the wings and other select parts, but realized the work might be too much for the design. “Honest jank” is the idea that most navy/fighter patches aren’t drawn by people who are particularly good at art. So as an artist, you have to introduce “jank” back into the design. less about accuracy, more about feel or readability.

That actually looks real good, and the very term honest jank is amazing to me.
