@rhiz: Dire machines don’t immediately enjoy music out of the gate as for them its a very raw interpretation of “painting time with sound”. they see the mathematical aspects of it before they experience the whole picture. Something like this takes living for a while to fully understand too, to move beyond the math and get to a place of emotion. The insane ones (Success machines) understand music perfectly however, as their brains are not wired like the other machines in their species. I have a character coming soon who is a machine musician.
